fauxPAS
Just
I know i havnt' been posting for like a bloody long time, so since im kinda free before my show starts, why not post now. =)
I know it's been 2 weeks like past the hols, but whose counting?
So let's blog on that shall we.
So i went for france for like a good 14 days, 8 days in provence and 6 days in paris.
Provence was more kinda like countryside-ish, where i stayed in some singaporean-owned home. Not too shabby i have to say, it was pretty decent. Ok, whose being modest, it was like friggin massive la. With 3 storey's high, damn, it was good.
The food in france = wonderful
I had dinner in a 2michellin -fork restaurant, like it was in the middle of nowhere.
It was pricy but worh it.
I had a mussels starter + honey roasted chicken + chocolate mousse.
I dunno what's up with them, but for one portion of chocolate chilled mousse, they gave me like a huge bowl, which we all finished eating like half of it only.
How wasteful lah.
Then of course for 11 days, we had fantastic desserts, like ice cream everyday (im becoming such a glutton D:), chocolate cake, chocolate this that everything, and somehow ALOT of cakes, with warm chocolate sauce flowing out, and some macarons.
Curiously, i didnt gain any weight. Gawd, i think something' s wrong with me.
Btw, i had like ratatouille during one night, and omg, it was fantastic.
But apart from that, screw them. 25% tips for them. imagine one 400 euro meal that is 100 euro tips = 200sgd, what money suckers omg.
Then we went to france, where we went to this building called the pompidou, which had all the escalators and lifts outside instead of inside, which was really cool.
Then we had of course go to the louvre, the famous musuem to see MonaLisa, which i think is highly OVER-rated.
I mean, it's like the only bloody painting in the whole musuem to have bullet-proof glass and a security rope guarding it.
And then of course there's Venus de Milo or something like that, a famous statue, which was quite decent.
Ah, then it came to dinner time, i mean our hotel was like near the 'youth area', so at night all sorts of goths and punks and gangsters and probably innocent good teens were like all around the bar's and clubs. Paris is like friggin scary man. when we first arrived and wanted to get some groceries, we stopped by the supermarket and damn, there's like a huge commotion and all these rap-looking people are like standing outside. At first i though it was some gang fight or something, turns out 3 women were LITERALLY dragged out of the grocery store for shoplifting.
And in the last day, we had some pizza before heading off to the airport. Some guy reached in through the window and grabbed the knife next to me, and looked at me, and left. Like what the hell man. Ironically i just heard on the news that there was some killing spree in tokyo at akihabara a few days ago, where a man stabbed like 7 people dead.
A few days earlier we also went to disneyland, nothing like the one in tokyo where i went last yr. This disneyland is like dirty like hell, with many french people swarming around.
I went on a indiana jones ride, which was like fantastic in tokyo, but what i had coming i didnt expect. This ride was like totally different, with some 360degree loop, which i bloody hell didnt know of. Good thing i closed my eyes for the whole thing. probably the only highlight of that day though, we only spent like 6hrs there because we had to go to some factory outlet for shopping.
Screw the prices in france though, i doubt u wanna know how much tax rebate we got back from all the spending there. Ahh, my show's starting.
Too bad :D
